So I am all about pre-planning for things - whether it's for a vacation or a holiday - I want to be prepared for anything and everything and with Thanksgiving & Christmas right around the corner I thought I would get you started with some Thanksgiving/Christmas movies. Now I'm not a huge fan of Holiday movies that are just about Christmas itself but I do enjoy movies that have some Holiday themes or a few scenes here there.
After a two week search - I found 10 films (both films I've seen and one's I haven't) and thought I share in case anyone is looking for movies to put you into the holiday spirit.
10 Awesome Holiday Films to Get into the Holiday Spirit:
1) It's a Wonderful Life 1946
This is a Christmas Classic - both in my house and in millions of others! I love this movie just for what it stands for (appreciating your life as you may not realize how much of an impact you have on others) but just because it's a really good movie! Great acting and a concrete storyline.
2) The Family Stone 2005
I personally love this movie. It's all about family bonding and has a really humorous plot. There is a sadness to the film at times but it's an A+ in my Holiday film list.
3) A Christmas Carol 1938
I've never watched this before so this is on my list to watch. Have you seen it? Reviews? Thoughts? If you not interested in seeing this version as it is in Black & White - check out the animated version released with Jim Carrey and Robin Wright.
4)While You Were Sleeping 1995
I actually like this film. I'm a huge Sandra Bullock fan so this is def a holiday favorite.
5) Trading Places 1983
This is just a really funny film. Classic Eddie Murphy :)
6) Planes, Trains and Automobiles 1987
Funny movie. Set around Thanksgiving.
7) Home Alone 1990
If you haven't seen it...You are really missing out!
8) The Best Man Holiday 2013
Follow up to the highly successful "The Best Man" released in 1999. Set at Christmas - the gang gets back together with an unexpected surprise.
9) Free Birds 2013
An animated film from the Thanksgiving Turkey's perspective.
10) Bad Santa 2003
My husband thinks this movie is quite hilarious and it seems lots of others do too.
I hope if your looking for a little Holiday pick me up that you check one or all of these out :) Happy Holidays!
