"Disappointing Addition to the Franchise"
My Movie Grade - D
This movie left a lot to be desired! Not at all what I've come to expect form the X-MEN franchise. I've been a fan since the beginning of the rebooting of the long lived cartoon series but this movie just didn't fit the bill. Lots of open ended questions and lots of just lost ideas that could have been wonderful but the delivery was just bad. The story line of this movie was more about about past decisions that have come to affect the future so negatively that it has put many mutants in danger - if not already killed them. There is a lot of switching from past to future. The story takes a left - when Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is sent back in time to try and make things right between Professor X and Magneto. Let's just say that things don't start going well until the last possible minutes. This movie was flat on entertainment and not at all what I expected with all the hype and the press that the film received. The only good thing is that we got to see some of our favorite characters from the beginning as youngsters - Professor X, Magneto, Storm, etc. We also get to see some of our facorite characters come back into the picture - Jean Grey, Cyclops and Rogue. Extremely disappointing. I again don't want to give up the story but this was a hit and miss. If your a fan of the series, check it out.
That's my take,
L.
