NO SPOILER ALERTS THIS TIME :)
"Spellbinding twisted climax"
My Movie Grading - A-
And the Oscar for Best Picture in 2014 should go to.....GONE GIRL. As I stated before - I didnt get to read the book. Trust me after seeing it - I plan to finish it. But this movie blew me out of the water with it's creative storyline - twisted climax and truly telling and amazing acting by Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. Gone Girl kept my attention and not one time did I feel like i knew what was coming. It is the epitome of what a good thriller should be. Future screenplay writers - take note! Gillian Flynn did an amazIng job turning her best seller into a movie goer favorite.
Sadly I refuse to give a spoiler about this movie because i recommend everyone goes to see it. If you don't have time this weekend - make time next weekend or next week - but everyone should be seeing this movie - IT WAS JUST THAT AWESOME. I gave the movie an A- only because the ending kind of took a dip in the wrong direction pool. I wasn't thrilled with the ending at all - actual rather disappointed but either way - it's a the end and doesn't take away from the films core content at all. Gone Girl will take you on a trip of pure movie goer happiness and I promise it will deliver if you like thrillers, mysterys and suspense - it truly has all three.
If you like the film as I believe you will - you won't have to wait long for another feature film adapation of Gillian Flynn's earlier released book - Dark Places. This film follows the story about a woman who investigates whether or not her incarcerated brother was truly responsible for the murder of their family in the 1980s, which happened when she was a child during the era of panic about Satanic ritual abuse. Sounds interesting right? We shall see...
That's my take,
L.
