I'm really excited to see this movie. The film follows the story behind the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches lead by Martin Luther King Jr., Hosea Williams and James Bevel. The trailer looks just amazing and it features a really diverse cast. David Oyelowo is the lead character playing Dr. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. - hopefully he does a great job as he is playing a coveted role and has some large shoes to fill playing such a righteous and prophetic character. Others cast in the film include: Tim Roth, Carmen Ejogo, Common, Niecy Nash and Oprah Winfrey. The film is scheduled for release on Christmas Day this year. Do you plan to go see it? I do :) L.

Everyone once in a while I will stop and reflect on how interesting life is. All the ups and downs, dating, sex, eating, having children, sleeping, vacationing - life is full of awesome opportunities and I know I forget to look back sometimes and think about how one experience may have helped shape another. These prophetic reminders and memories are pouring out all of a sudden but It probably doesn't help that I am currently reading Lena Dunham's book - "Not that Kind of Girl" which isn't just a great read but also very prophetic. What prompted me to read the book is that she is not only the genius behind the hit show "Girls" on HBO and a phenomenal coming of age woman in general (no I don't know her personally but I follow her on IG so I basically know her - just kidding :) but the two (her book and her show) are sometimes mirror imagines of my life. I'm sure this happens to us all. We've been watching something or looking at something and had that feeling like - of shit that's happened to me or I've been there and done that.
She get's really candid at times about sexual experiences but she doesn't seem shameful that she's sharing such intimate details of her love life. If you've been reading the newspaper or watching entertainment news - she's been in the headlines lately but not for publishing a great book but for over-sharing and folks pointing the "Celebrities Can't Make Mistakes" Stick at her about an experience with her little sister and her vagina that didn't go over to well. But if those types of things don't bother you (because you know she was a child doing these things) - She also covers funnier topics about dieting, body image, love, etc. Though her point was probably not to do anything but entertain us and close the door on people constantly asking - "Who exactly is Lena Dunham"? but she opened a few doors of thought and reflection that I am happy she did. If you haven't yet - pick the book up and check it out for yourself, L. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/gossip/la-et-mg-lena-dunham-sexual-abuse-accusation-book-excerpt-20141103-story.html http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/12/books/review/lena-dunham-memoir-not-that-kind-of-girl-review.html?_r=0 "Basically Nothing Kills a Spirit" My Movie Grading - D This wasn't the corniest of scary movies, I've ever seen but it wasn't the greatest. Anyone who has ever owned or heard about the Ouija board as a child can kind of relate to were the story was going. As we all know - it has a reputation of being used as a spirit or talking board with dead souls. Now I had one as a kid but never really played with it for fear of something actually happening but that's what this story was all about - opening up the spiritual flood gates with something that wasn't of this world. This wasn't a great movie by any means but it was entertaining and had a few chills and thrills. Plot The film opens with a young Laine Morris and Debbie Galardi playing with a Ouija board in Laine's room, only to be interrupted by Laine's sister Sarah. The scene then forwards to present day, where Debbie (Shelley Hennig) is playing with the board by herself and is so unnerved by what she experiences that she tries to burn the board and planchette before calling Laine (Olivia Cooke). Concerned, Laine comes over but is sent away by Debbie, who goes upstairs only to find the board on her bed. Her eyes turn white and she hangs herself. The following day, Laine is with her boyfriend Trevor (Daren Kagasoff) at a diner, where they meet up with their friend Isabelle (Bianca A. Santos). Laine receives a text and goes home, learning of Debbie's death. After the funeral, Laine finds Debbie's Ouija board and decides to gather Sarah, Trevor, Isabelle, and Debbie's boyfriend Pete (Douglas Smith) to hold a seance. They make contact with someone who is identified as D, who Laine immediately believes is Debbie. Despite this, the group is too frightened to continue playing. A couple nights later, they're drawn back to the board after each person finds the message "hi friend" in various locations. Upon further interaction with the board, the group discovers that the spirit is not Debbie. Laine looks through the planchette and sees a young girl with her mouth stitched closed, who then warns the group to run from her mother. The group heads home, only for a malicious spirit to follow Isabelle and murder her. Trevor and Laine research Debbie's house and find that a young girl was placed in a mental institution after killing her mother, who she claims killed her sister, Doris. The two travel to the institution and meet Paulina Zander, who states that their mother killed Doris and sewed her mouth shut because she believed that spirits were trying to communicate through her. Trevor and Laine head home and unleash the spirits of Doris and Mrs. Zander. Doris overcomes her mother and the group believes that everything has been resolved. Unfortunately, this is not true as Pete is later killed by Doris. Laine confronts Paulina about this, only to realize that Doris and Paulina were the evil ones and that Mrs. Zander was trying to stop them. Laine's grandmother tells them that the only way to stop the ghost is to burn Doris's body and the Ouija board. Trevor is also killed before Sarah manages to locate the corpse. Both Sarah and Laine are attacked by Doris and it is only through the intervention of Debbie's spirit that the girls survive and manage to burn Doris's corpse and the Ouija board, destroying Doris. The two sisters return home, only for Laine to find the planchette waiting for her in her room. This wasn't a great movie by any means but it was entertaining and had a few chills and thrills. That's my take, L. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouija#Films
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouija_%282014_film%29 http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ouija-nightcrawler-tie-at-box-office/ Well we know what happening to Beth....But how did they get Carol?
Overview of last night according to Wikipedia's - The Walking Dead Page: Beth wakes up in Grady Memorial Hospital in the middle of Atlanta. Officer Dawn Lerner, who is in charge of the hospital, assigns her as a nurse under Dr. Steven Edwards, the hospital's remaining doctor. Dawn enforces a policy in which the people her fellow officers rescue must work under them before they are rescued by the military, while disposing injured people that threaten the scarcity of their medical resources. A heavily injured man, Gavin Trevitt, is brought in, with Dawn unusually insisting that Edwards save him at all costs; she retaliates by hitting Beth when Stevens deems Trevitt a lost cause. Beth encounters another worker, Joan, who had been bitten and recaptured after a failed escape, and is forced to help Dawn and Edwards amputate Joan's arm. Later, she meets Noah, a laundry worker, who explains to her that only weak people are saved by the officers and tells her that he wishes to escape to his walled community in Virginia. An officer and her rescuer, Gorman, begins making advances towards her, only to be stopped by Edwards. When Beth questions Edwards on why he still stays in the hospital despite their bad conditions, he replies that it is still better inside than the overrun Atlanta. He tells her to give Trevitt a dose of Clozapine, however this results in the latter to have seizures and to flatline. Dawn confronts her about Trevitt's death, but Noah takes the blame and is badly beaten by the officers. Beth becomes confused when Edwards questions her about giving the correct drug, Clonazepam. Dawn confronts Beth after seeing through Noah's lie and tells her that she is not proving her worth. Beth and Noah formulate a plan to escape the hospital though the elevator shaft. While hunting for the key of the elevator shaft in Dawn's office, Beth encounters the body of Joan, who has killed herself by opening up her amputation wound, and Gorman, who tries to blackmail her into sexual acts. She complies in order to buy time for Joan's reanimation, and smashes his head with a jar before he is eaten by the zombified Joan. She and Noah then proceed to exit through the shaft and fight their way through walkers; although she is tackled by an officer, she smiles after seeing that Noah has made it out. Beth berates Dawn for letting things happen for nothing; Dawn retaliates by knocking her out. Beth later confronts Edwards about deliberately using her to kill Trevitt, another doctor, who would have threatened his position in the hospital. As she prepares to kill Edwards in the hallway, she sees an unconscious Carol brought in a stretcher. First let me address the nasty perv dude they hired to be a police officer....Making all those nasty advances at Beth. Thank God he's dead. He was gross, annoying and had clearly let his power go to his head. Now with Dawn - she clearly isn't running a damn thing in that camp and has some serious anger issues and abuse issues that need to be nipped in the bud ASAP. Dr. Steven Edwards needs to die - he is too cowardly to live in that world and is also kinda of demented as he would prefer to kill off any other doctor (to ensure his place & that he is still needed by Dawn and group) that comes in rather than standing together with another doctor and dividing up duties, etc. I was a little disappointed in last nights episode as I would have liked to see who's with Daryl - how Carol ended up there or more of what's been going on with Beth rather than a rush synopsis of her last few weeks. Doesn't look like we will see Daryl and crew for another two weeks - as the preview to next week's episode shows - we are following Ford & Crew in search of DC. That's my take, L. I'm always up for anything that is mysterious, science fiction or horrorish - and the returned has become one of my new favorite mini-series. There was a marathon on Sundance channel this weekend - I binged watched all 8 episodes on Sunday and quite enjoyed it - even in French! I actually brushed up on my French :) The show is something like "Resurrection" which I've never watched but it's about people who have died who start coming back and trying to figure out why, etc. If you have the opportunity to see it - it was actually quite good. Very easy to follow with the subtitles and pretty good storyline too. L. I am a few days late on posting about this so I apologize. Who enjoyed Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead as much as me? Not only did Daryl return but the episode preview to this Sunday's episode shows what we've all been waiting for - the answers to what happened to BETH! Is Beth returning with Carol or did Daryl sad face cement that Carol has died or disappeared. I'm assuming that maybe Beth is in bad shape and Carol is helping her come out from the darkness - I would hope showrunner - Scott Gimple wouldn't have such an uneventful death for one of our HERO character's this season. I mean if he gave Andrea (who was a pain in my damn ass a reasonable death) - Carol should get the same send off - if not better. We shall see :) I found some extremely awesome pics of possible scenes from this upcoming episode. Now I can't say if they are real or just dumby scene's to throw us off the scent but I'm excited either way. Now we must pay our respect's to Bob :(....Sasha just can't win these days. Lost Tyreese for a while but she gained a man and now she's back to being man less in this brutal world but at least has her brother back. I'm so excited about seeing this whole thing come to light about Beth, who took her, what Daryl and Carol found after they chased the car down the road - everything. Plus I'm extremely excited that my favorite group will be gracing my beautiful city of DC very soon. God Bless the Zombies, L. How many times have I mentioned that I hate when movies are broken into parts?....Beyond the fact that I am just extremely impatient - but I don't like to have such a huge gap between the stories, especially when one ends with a cliff-hanger. This annoying trend seems to be happening more and more often these days. For instance - The Hunger Games series final installment "Mockingjay" is being broken into two parts (my thoughts are this is just WILDLY unnecessary as the final installment of the book didn't warrant a two part film, or the final installment in the Harry Potter series and many more.
Today Marvel announced that it will break ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Into Two Parts for release in 2018, 2019. Yahoo Movies announced this first stating that: "Marvel is breaking the third installment of its powerhouse Avengers franchise into two parts, studio president Kevin Feige announced at the Marvel fan event on Tuesday. Dubbed “Avengers: Infinity War,” part one will debut on May 4, 2018 and part two will follow on May 3, 2019. The “Avengers” news was only one of several major announcements Marvel dropped on the public at the event, which revealed Marvel’s nine-movie Phase 3. This will start with “Captain America: Civil War,” which bows May 6, 2016. The second Avengers installment, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2015, starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, James Spader, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson and Mark Ruffalo." At a special presentation at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood Tuesday, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige gave press and several hundred fans some insight into the studio’s plans for their huge superhero movie slate. It was a dizzying parade of news, announcing new titles like Black Panther and Inhumans, plus two more Avengers films. The studio released complete plans for phase 3. Marvel revealed the title for the next Captain America film, it’s Captain America: Civil War, and the next Thor film: Thor 3: Ragnarok, slated for July 28, 2017. Marvel also pushed the release of Doctor Strange to November 4, 2016. Black Panther will hit theaters on November 3, 2017, starring 42 and Get on Up star Chadwick Boseman. Feige announced that the studio will make a Captain Marvel film, set for July 6, 2018. Carol Danvers is Captain Marvel, making it the studio’s first female-centered film. Marvel will also make an Inhumans film, set for Nov. 2, 2018. Two more ensemble Avengers films were also dated: Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 for May 4, 2018 and Part 2 for May 2019. Marvel has already announced dates for several phase 3 films: Ant-Man starring Paul Rudd is slated for July 17, 2015, and Captain America 3, which will include Robert Downey Jr. along with Chris Evans, is slated for May 6, 2016. Doctor Strange has been originally dated forJuly 8, 2016, but director Scott Derrickson and Marvel have been going back and forth with finding a leading man. After negotiations with Joaquin Phoenix fell apart in early October, Benedict Cumberbatch came into talks to take on the titular role. Since I don't own a major production company orfilm studio company - I guess I'll have to wait like everyone else. L. https://www.yahoo.com/movies/marvel-announces-several-new-films-including-two-101189393202.html https://movies.yahoo.com/news/marvel-breaks-avengers-infinity-war-two-parts-2018-185839254.html So I'm sure everyone knows already that Marvel is planning to release another Captain America movie; but did you know that Robert Downey Jr. might have dropped us a new hint on a recent visit to the Ellen Show that we may be graced with a 4th and possibly final Iron Man movie for the franchise. If your anything like me - you're extremely excited about this cause this means a possible close to the Pepper and Tony story and possibly a final look at Iron Man on the big screen alone (without the other Avengers). The other awesome news is the Chris Hemsworth hinted at another Thor film and possibly more if fans continue to support the series. I think it's a wonderful idea to have 4-5 films per Avengers character. Personally - I'd like to see another Hulk film but with Mark Ruffalo. Personally I think he's a really awesome "Hulk" and I think that he has done an awesome job of filling Edward Nortons shoes. He's actually a great "Hulk".
Anyway - I wanna see what else Marvel has to offer with these films. It's extremely exciting to see all these films come together. I can't wait to see The Avenger's: Age of Ultron. Man am I excited :) L. Saturday I officially joined the "Children of the Corn" clan. My husband, myself and friends made a go of the corn field maize at the Temple Hills Farm. It was such a good time and I thought I would share a few pics from our "Corn Scaring" day. We got lost but it was still fun. If you haven't already...Check out a local farm for corn mazes or pumpkin picking. It's a lot of fun actually. L. *I'm not going to do a outline of the whole episode because if your a fan you've been watching and if not this post won't make sense to you anyway.*
So I'm just going to jump right in with the major spoiler - " THEY ATE BOB'S LEG". WHAT THE HELL! Ok, so we all kinda feel like had Bob told Sasha about being bit - I'm sure the group could have saved him like they did Hershel. Now my hope is that since I'm pretty sure he was bit, that the "Terminus" group just ate "TAINTED MEAT". Since it was cooked - who knows what affect that will have but aren't we all just hoping they die already. Gareth and his group are out for revenge and I can't stand seeing "My Group" lose anyone. So hopefully this upcoming episode will have Sasha realizing that Bob is missing and some how or another get him out of this situation before they take another limb. I love that the show is lining up to the comics. This was a scene straight from the comic books - so I'm too excited! Though I'm not always a fan of following the comics cause that means that characters I love - could be knocking on death's door soon but NEGAN hasn't arrived so I'm happy about that! Soon as I see him - that means Glenn and Rick's Hand are in danger! Sasha and Bob - I love them as a couple. First I love when any of the folks in "My Group" get together (Maggie & Glenn) but these two just melt my heart. Sasha had been so hard core at first - always willing to kill (instead of being killed), first to want to shot and then ask questions - she was definitely a live wire. But now I'm just pissed cause soon as she get's a boo - they gotta have go missing, losing a limb and in the arms of a damn mad man (Gareth). It's just a mess! Hopefully (which I know it won't) love will prevail! Then we have Daryl and Carol chasing the mystery speeding car. Now did anyone else think to themselves - "How the hell are they still driving around"? I mean literally when we saw them take Beth last season - they sped off so fast that I could barely make out the type of car it was. So this time around when we saw it - they actually gave us a better look at it - the back window had a cross on it. Makes me wonder if this is apart of the same group who carved "You'll Burn For This" in the side of the church. Like Carl pointed out - someone was trying to get in - I can't wait to find out what happened. Last nights episode was full of eye openers but 3 of "My Group - Daryl, Carol & Bob" are missing and the main part of the group have no idea where they are. Who's ready for Week 3 of the best show on TV? DON'T ALL SCREAM AT ONCE, L. Articles & News Related to The Walking Dead: Week 2 eonline.com RANT: The Walking Dead: #BobBQ is possibly one of the best Twitter hashtags a show has ever inspired. We feel sad for Bob, but have to say that we kind of knew he was a little doomed as soon as the episode started focusing a little too much on his and Sasha's adorable relationship. He also made the mistake of heading out of the church alone, and that turned out to be a terrible mistake, as it usually is on this show. We just hope the fact that Gareth and crew are slowly eating his body parts isn't going to ruin his refreshing optimism.
